Welcome to the Personal Learning Plan at Nuriootpa High School
The PLP is taught during first semester each year to year 10 students.
SUBJECT DESCRIPTION
The Personal Learning Plan (PLP) is a compulsory 10-credit subject undertaken at Stage 1.
Students must achieve a C grade or better to complete the subject successfully and gain their SACE.
The PLP helps students to:
plan their personal and learning goals for the future
make informed decisions about their personal development, education, and training.
Developing goals for the future will engage students in activities such as:
selecting subjects, courses, and other learning relevant to pathways through and beyond school
investigating possible career choices
exploring personal and learning goals.
Learning Requirements
The learning requirements summarise the knowledge, skills, and understanding that students are expected to develop and demonstrate through their learning.
In this subject, students are expected to:
1. know and understand the five capabilities
2. identify, explore, and develop personal and learning goals, and strategies to achieve them
3. select and develop at least one capability relevant to achieving their goals
4. reflect on their learning.
These learning requirements form the basis of the learning scope and assessment requirements of this subject. Assessment Types Assessment Type 1: Folio
Students provide evidence of:
knowing and understanding the five capabilities
identifying, exploring, and developing personal and learning goals
developing strategies to achieve their goals
selecting and developing at least one capability relevant to achieving their goals.
Students produce two or three pieces of evidence for assessment of the folio. This evidence may take a variety of forms, such as:
Assessment Type 2: Reflection
Students reflect on:
their personal and learning goals
the effectiveness of the strategies they developed to achieve their goals
their development of at least one capability relevant to achieving their goals
how the development of their selected capability or capabilities helps to achieve their goals.
The reflection may occur at different stages of the planning process. Students can choose to refine their personal and learning goals as part of their reflection.
Students produce at least one piece of evidence for assessment of the reflection. This evidence may take a variety of forms, such as:
